You can delete your Scattered account and the personal data associated with it at any time, directly in the app — no support request is needed. Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. This page explains how to delete your account, what is erased, and any data that may be retained.
Delete your account
Permanently erase your Scattered account and all associated data. This action cannot be undone.
How to delete your account
Scattered provides self-service account deletion directly in the app — no support request is needed.
- Log in to Scattered.
- Open the Sidebar (desktop/tablet) or the More tab (mobile) in the bottom bar.
- Expand Settings & Privacy and open Account & Data.
- On the Account & Data page, tap Delete account.
- In the confirmation dialog, review the warning, then tap Delete everything to confirm.
Your account and all associated data are erased immediately, and you're signed out of the app.
What data is deleted
When your account is deleted, Scattered permanently erases all data associated with your account, including:
- Tasks
- Notes
- Calendar events
- Projects
- Reminders
- Spending and budget entries
- Recurring charges
- Journals (including handwriting data)
- Spaces
- Dashboard widgets and custom lists
- Podcast tasks
- Your user account and sign-in credentials
You're signed out immediately and can no longer access the app with that account.
Data we may retain
Deletion removes your data from the live Scattered service. However, the underlying platform that hosts Scattered may retain limited residual copies in system backups, logs, or diagnostic records for a period of time as necessary for:
- Security and abuse prevention;
- Fraud detection and investigation;
- Legal, regulatory, or compliance obligations; and
- Service integrity and troubleshooting.
This residual data is not part of your active account and is removed in the normal course of the platform's backup and log lifecycle.
Retention period
Scattered does not apply a fixed retention period to deleted account data beyond what the hosting platform requires for the purposes above. Residual backup and log data is deleted or overwritten according to the platform's standard backup and log expiration practices. No specific retention period is published or guaranteed.
