Privacy Policy

Scattered · ScatteredAB.com

Effective date: September 9, 2026

This Privacy Policy describes how Scattered (“Scattered,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and protects information when you use the Scattered mobile application and website at ScatteredAB.com (the “Service”). By using Scattered, you agree to the practices described here.

1. Information You Provide

Scattered may collect information you voluntarily provide when creating or using an account.

  • Account information: your email address and password (managed by our authentication provider), and optional profile details such as your name. When you sign in with Google, basic profile information shared by Google — such as your name and email address — is used to create and sign in to your account.
  • Content you enter: tasks, notes, journal entries (including handwriting input), projects, calendar events, reminders, spending and budgeting entries, recurring charges, spaces, and other information you enter into Scattered's organizational tools. This content is stored so we can provide and synchronize your Scattered experience.

2. Connected Services

Certain Scattered features may allow you to connect third-party services, such as Google services. When you authorize an integration, Scattered accesses only the information and permissions necessary to provide the requested functionality, subject to the permissions you grant. Scattered does not access information or permissions beyond what the feature requires. You may disconnect a service at any time, which stops further access.

3. Financial Information

Scattered may allow you to manually enter spending, budgeting, and other financial-organizational information to help you stay organized. Scattered is not a bank, financial institution, financial adviser, or payment processor unless a specific feature expressly states otherwise. The financial features are for personal organization only and do not connect to your bank accounts or process payments.

4. Automatically Collected Information

When you use Scattered, the underlying platform that hosts the Service may collect limited technical information necessary to operate and secure Scattered, such as:

  • IP address and network connection information;
  • device type, browser, operating system, and app version;
  • authentication and session tokens stored on your device to keep you signed in; and
  • service and diagnostic logs used to maintain reliability and troubleshoot problems.

Scattered does not currently use third-party advertising or analytics services.

5. How We Use Information

We may use applicable information to:

  • provide, operate, and maintain Scattered;
  • authenticate you and manage your account;
  • store and synchronize your content across your devices;
  • provide the features and integrations you request;
  • improve performance, reliability, and stability;
  • troubleshoot and diagnose technical problems;
  • protect against abuse, fraud, and security threats;
  • communicate with you about your account or the Service when necessary; and
  • comply with legal obligations.

6. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:

  • service providers and infrastructure providers that help operate Scattered (such as hosting and authentication), under appropriate confidentiality and security obligations;
  • third-party services you explicitly authorize — for example, a Google integration you connect — limited to what is necessary for that integration; and
  • authorities or third parties when required by law, court order, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

7. Data Storage and Security

Your information is stored by the underlying platform that hosts Scattered. We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect your information. However, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Data Retention and Deletion

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Service. You can delete your account at any time from within Scattered (Settings → Delete account), which permanently erases your tasks, calendar events, notes, projects, spending, budgets, journals, reminders, spaces, and other associated data and removes your account. Some information may be retained in backups or logs for a limited period as necessary for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or legitimate operational needs.

9. Children's Privacy

Scattered is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can remove it.

10. Your Privacy Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or otherwise exercise control over your personal information. You can exercise many of these rights directly in the app, including deleting your account and its associated data. For other requests, contact us using the information below.

11. Third-Party Services

Third-party integrations and connected services (such as Google) are governed by their own privacy policies and terms. Scattered is not responsible for how those services handle your information once you authorize them. We encourage you to review the policies of any service you connect.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the "Effective date" shown on this page. We encourage you to review this page periodically to stay informed about how we protect your information.

13. Contact
